After giving birth most women experience a couple of days of emotional instability. The delivery, taking care of the baby, disrupted sleep, changes in hormone levels and adapting to the new situation – it is not uncommon to feel down, worried or not yourself.
Complaints women and their partners may experience after giving birth are:
- feeling depressed
- mood swings
- feeling anxious and having scary thoughts
- obsessive thoughts and behavior
When these complaints don’t dissolve or start to interfere with your life it may be valuable to talk to a professional.
In our first session we will do a screening and try to see what is needed to make you feel better. This can involve practical changes, some supportive psychotherapy and sometimes thinking about medication.
You can bring your baby with you if you like.
